Central Coast Firms Work Together to Nab Top Honors

Barnett Cox and Ventura Printing Recognized by Printing Industry Association

SAN LUIS OBISPO — Teamwork has produced a "Best of Category" award from the Printing Industry Association (PIA) for a pair of Central Coast companies.

The winning entry, a sales booklet for Rice Ranch Homes in Orcutt, was designed by Barnett Cox & Associates of San Luis Obispo and produced by Ventura Printing, headquartered in Oxnard. The promotional piece combined compelling design, copywriting and photography with innovative papers and production to capture top honors.

According to Chuck Macchi of Ventura Printing, the PIA awards are the most prestigious in the printing industry, requiring impeccable design and creative content working in tandem with flawless printing and assembly. And, the piece designed by BCA and produced by Ventura was beautiful example of teamwork, Macchi said.

"A 'Best of Category' win recognizes the caliber of both content and printing," he said. "It's exciting to see our shared effort with BCA has paid off."

BCA's creative team for the project included graphic designer Chris Sutton, writer Susan McDonald and project coordinator Ben Hein.

Barnett Cox and Associates is a full-service marketing firm located in San Luis Obispo. It is owned by longtime local residents Dave and Maggie Cox.
